Cme Uf Drivers Mac

They even have a forum devoted to drivers:When I downloaded their latest driver, it was already two revisions past the one on my CD, but it still bombed my computer. The differences between revisions were minor, the pace of change glacial. For all I know it might take them another 10 revisions before they get it right, and I don't have the time.I can quite understand why they have a forum devoted to their drivers. Whereas Edirol, M-Audio, RME, MOTU don't need them-they seem to get it right the first time, at least most of the time. Driver sucks.

Do not use. That's for sure. I had a CME UF6 keyboard for a short time, and I made the mistake of installing the USB driver on my Mac. It caused a problem when I used Logic Pro 7, where a certain note would not sound when I was using software synths in Logic. It seems that the CME driver corrupted Core MIDI in OSX somehow, and I had to do a complete re-install of OS X to fix the problem.

I'm using an E-mu X-Board 49 now via USB with no problems at all.I'll never buy a CME product again. I was considering getting the CME UF5 as my first keys and still am a little bit. After reading about all the issues people are having on their forums, that worries me. I'd want to use it with USB, but it seems people experience fewer problems using midi. I'm not sure if my joystick to midi adapter for my PC would work well with it.Ed A.,I'm guessing you're the person who did the review of the E-MU Xboard 49. I'm leaning more towards getting it, especially after reading everything you've said. I don't play keys yet, but even I didn't like how the M-Audio and Edirol controllers felt.

If the key action is close to how people describe the CME's, then I'll be happy. Is the plastic case a lot better than the M-audio and Edirol controllers or does it still feel a bit cheap? I'm on a PC, so I can check out the Proteus X LE soft synth. I noticed a couple sites have rebate coupons for two free sound modules for it.

Not bad for $169.99. The more sounds the better.I just want to buy the right thing the first time. I'm guessing you're the person who did the review of the E-MU Xboard 49.
