Could only find three small dings, otherwise, it's in fair condition. Serial Number is 259XXX and I found it was manufactured in Nov. 1956, and the bell is stamped Fullerton, CA. Comes with original hardshell case, and mouthpiece-unsure if it's original or not. Asking $195 with free shipping. This is an Olds Ambassador Cornet.

Super

I purchased it to learn to play with my son. But it turns out he does not enjoy my suggestions when practicing: I am not much of a trumpet player, but to me, it played well. The keys move well as do all 3 slides. The finish is quite scratched and it has the usual dings to be expected from an older trumpet, See pictures) The serial number appears to be#55411 which. From what I can find online, would mean it is from the early 1950s. I chose this brand because there was so much out there saying that it was good for students.

I think it would make a good first trumpet/cornet for a child. I bought one very similar for my son as well and it is working out great. Comes with hard case pictured.

Latches and hinges are in good working order. I do not have the key. This Cornet does NOT come with a mouthpiece. Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This auction is for a vintage Olds Ambassador Cornet. Made in Fullerton California.

St. Jude's Research Hospital Donation. This is a SUPERB vintage New Old Stock Olds Ambassador Cornet built in 1975 from the Fullerton plant in California where the instruments were being built carefully by trained and experienced brass craftsmen. This cornet was purchased NEW in the past 2 years by the a friend of ours who loved the way it looked. Sounded and felt in his hand.

But, he has since grown in his playing and is using a high end Monette trumpet as his daily player. So, needing to keep his instrument count at 48, he decided he would have to let a couple go and this was one of them.

When we looked it over. We noticed how NEW LOOKING it was and then noticed one slight imperfection that we tried to capture in one of the photos below. A tiny dent was felt and we. Asked him about it and he didn't recall seeing that before, it must have come from the music store that way. This in no way affects playability or appeal but we're sure a brass technician could push that out with the right tools. Lacquer is 100% as best we see.

The cornet plays great with a big. Bold and beautiful sound- projects as well as any horn we've tried recently.

Mechanically, the valves are Like New and have Like New compression. The original case is also in Like New condition( see photo directly below) and includes the following: 1. Set of keys for the case( very rare to have these) 2. Care of your instrument card To find one like this in a music store today would cost much more than the Buy It Now price- plus a goodly portion of your purchase price is going to help St. Jude's Research Children's Hospital with all their worthy work! Fullerton CA w Olds 3c mouthpiece, case, plays Olds Cornet with original? 3c mouthpiece.

The Cornet is an Ambassador model horn and is a good player. The serial number 6504xx appears on the 2nd valve case, meaning the horn was made in July 1968. This horn was made in Fullerton California.

It disassembles, slides work, valves work, mouthpiece works, the cornet plays. Has period clamshell case. Defects found: Finish is about 50% 1st valve slide is VERY tight, dings/ dents, re-soldered braces, mouthpiece worn. I checked the cornet out for valve function, playability, and pulled/ lubed the tubes.

I found no issues with this horn except very tight 1st slide after check out! It plays with little effort. Please look over the pictures and judge for yourself! I don’t normally clean the insides of a horn and didn’t this one. Any measurements listed should not be deemed as exact. Unless noted otherwise; Instruments I sell are in used condition, but working.

As such, they will normally have dings, dents, finish issues. I attempt to describe flaws as I observe them, however you should view the photos provided, along with description before purchase. All of the valves open and close.onthis horn.

The middle valve on top returns a little slow and so does the one on top towards the bell. Also the side valve is a little gluey. No big dents or scratches that I noticed on this horn. Looks like a little silver solder is needed on on of the braces(see pic) That said a good clean and polish will make this a beautiful horn. Olds 3c mouth piece and case included.

No reasonable offer will be refused. This item may be shipped by another carrier for cost purposes only. Thx for bidding. Item Description I am thrilled to offer this Vintage Olds Ambassador Large Bore(468) Bb Cornet in excellent condition. It has a serial number of 350800 which puts it squarely at June of 1960. At 44 years old this cornet is in remarkable shape. And the case too, very good condition.

I looked it over as I gave it a good soapy bath and cleaning and could not find any dents or dings. I have learned NOT to ultrasonic clean these older vintage horns. The ultrasonic action forces the water under the old weak/ thin lacquer and makes the finish cloudy, or sometimes just pops off the lacquer altogether. I disassembled all of the valve parts and they got a bath too. The cornet has areas where the lacquer has been thinned out and the brass has oxidized in places. Nothing horrible or threatening, just there to be noticed.

As you scroll down and view the. Pictures you will find this cornet very attractive and pleasing to look at. It plays very open with a rich resounding tone. Slots well in all registers and keeps good intonation. The valves look as if they are still getting broken in. Very little wear to the pistons at all.

It comes in it’s original Geib hard case, original sticker is still on the inside of the lining, in excellent condition. Also original is the Olds 3 cornet mouthpiece in great condition, and a music lyre, which accompanied all Olds cornets in the 1960’s era. If you have always wanted a large bore horn this may be just the ticket. Satisfaction guaranteed or a full refund. Payment is expected within 3 days.

For sale is a beautiful antique 1959 or 1960 Olds Ambassador Bb cornet! This gold lacquered brass cornet comes with a Vincent Bach 7C mouthpiece. It was manufactured in Fullterton. CA and the serial number on the 2nd valve reads 321900.

I am not a musician, so I haven't tested it to see how it sounds. There is some wear and tear to the cornet, and I tried to get a good representation of the condition in the pictures. So please look at them and read the description of the wear and tear below. The cornet and mouthpiece have some tarnish. And there are several dents and dings on it.

I tried to get a good representation of the majority of dents and damage in the pictures, so please look at them. Note that there might be a few dents that are not shown. Two of the braces connecting the mouthpiece tubing to the valve casing are slightly. Separated from the tubing, but the tubing still feels firm and doesn't move much. There is a pad missing on the 2nd top valve cap(see picture) and the 2nd and 3rd valves are a little sticky. The cornet needs a good cleaning.
